Artist's Comments

July, 1972

It was the last time I saw her,
Next to the carousel, my mother:
in cheap pearls, a torn skirt, red
lipstick bruising her mouth. And

She closed her eyes, and breathed.
I was nervous, anxious, a seven
year old with scratched up knees.
She smiled slightly,
crying, quite openly.

(She smiled
as she left me.)

A collab with the talented :icontoadsmoothy2: who, after reading my poem based on a polaroid he took, asked me to make a digital piece with it. So..here it is.
I don't know if it is what he had in mind, but it just came to me..

The original can be found here: [link]

or maybe you could draw art to go with some of my poems i've written..or i could write some to be illustrated with..maybe about more carnivals. :D

anyhow, it has to be done, someday. ;)

Life is just waiting around for the next disaster. The only consolation is, one of these times it'll be fatal.

Thats very good I must say!
The poem is very special, emotional and deep.
The visuals are realistic and very detailed.
Just amazing.
